Are you experiencing varicose veins or spider veins? Does the appearance of your superficial prominent veins cause you to feel embarrassed or insecure? Prominent superficial veins can also cause uncomfortable symptoms such as swelling, burning sensations, and aching due to the fact that they impede blood circulation. At Nourished MedSpa and Wellness Center, it is our main goal to help each of our patients achieve optimal health and wellness. That is why, we offer personalized laser sclerotherapy treatments to treat and eliminate superficial spider and varicose veins.
What is Laser Sclerotherapy?
Laser sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure designed to diminish small superficial veins and relieve uncomfortable symptoms caused by varicose and spider veins. Laser sclerotherapy utilizes laser light energy delivered to the targeted vein. The light energy causes the inner lining of the vein to heat up over milliseconds, causing it to eventually collapse. The pooled blood within the vein then redirects into surrounding healthy and normal functioning veins. Overtime, the collapsed superficial veins turn into scar tissue, fade from view, and are naturally removed from the body. Laser sclerotherapy is most popularly used to treat visible veins in areas of the legs, but it can also be used to reduce the appearance of small veins in other various parts of the body. Our patient’s have found the laser to be very successful in eliminating the fine blood vessels of the face, particularly the nose.

How Long Does the Procedure Take?
A laser sclerotherapy session typically takes about 30 minutes. The duration of time needed to complete the procedure may vary from patient to patient, depending on how many veins are being addressed.
Recovery Time
Following your treatment, movement such as walking is important to prevent blood clots from forming within the area that was treated. For small reticular veins, compression of the vessel for several hours post procedure is sufficient. For larger veins, it is recommended that patients wear compression stockings or bandages for up to two weeks after their laser sclerotherapy session. Most patients are able to return to their daily routine in about 24 to 48 hours after their procedure. However, it is important for patients to avoid strenuous exercise or activities for a few weeks after receiving laser sclerotherapy therapy.
